For the sake of Makedonija(3)

We all are NOT people by chance

Several months from the beginning of the new millennium, it seems that Macedonia has entered the ethnic war circle, seems that we have forgotten what the war in Bosnia, Croatia brought, seems that we have forgotten that no war have bring good, welfare to any people, that so many people were killed, that so many victims occurred, that so many people lost their homes. And all that just to realize that peace is the only value for a country and for a civil society.

After all the battles in former Yugoslavia a question emerge: how many human lives have to be destroyed, how many people have to live their life as refugees, what else  people from the Balkans’ postcommunist societies need before they realize that life should be built on tolerance, mutual understanding and trust.

Those who cannot understand this should visit some hospital to see a suffering that is not caused by human being. Do we need more suffering done by man this time? Ask some mother and you will get the answer.

The Building of civil society is an important achievement for Macedonia, achievement that we should build on gradually to create conditions for the functioning of the multicultural and multiethnic society. The civil society is what bring people together, with open horizons for culture, with united forces that will analyze the new reality in Europe and will act with the spirit of time, with mutual understanding and cooperation, for the development of the civil society in Macedonia.

The civil society is the one that makes development and gives solutions though different institutional forms of communications, through the cohesion of such values as: peace, multiculture, respect, equality, because, at the end of all, “we are all born by chance as Macedonians, Albanians, Turks, Romas, Serbs, Valachs.. but we are Not people by chance.

This is time when the whole world is trying to overcome the need for explosive terms as “racial, ethnic, religious” groups Let US join the trend,  let’s make the right choice, and that is to be citizens. It is time for the NGOs to become truly “independent” and “objective” and to fight for civil society, multiculturalism and tolerance. We call for all the NGO's and those who work there to take a better stand for the development of civil society. And than we will say that our destiny is  not done on elections day but we create it through realization of our ideas in our local surroundings.

 Think well, for our sake.
